What’s old is new again as is evidenced by this cool-looking, totally retro Radio Flyer Classic Red Dual Deck Tricycle. Perhaps you had one as a kid; now your child or grandchild can have a rad red Radio Flyer of their own! Highlights of this trike include the unmistakable cherry red color, a twelve inch wheel with steel spokes, rubber coated handlebars, and a chrome front fender. Kids will love the red and white tassels that fit into the handlebars and the little bell that comes attached. Parents will like the pavement-gripping rubber tires and turning radius as well as the double deck rear step which makes it easy for little legs to climb to the seat.
Not only is the tricycle fashionable, fun and sturdy, it’s also a triple award winner. It’s winner of the Parents Choice Classic Award, the Parent’s Guide to Children’s Media Award, and also picked up the Seal of Approval from the National Parenting Center. Customer reviews are a great way to research a product and find out if it truly delivers. Here are a few reviews from owners of the Radio Flyer Classic Red Dual Deck Tricycle.
his is not only a nostalgic cute “toy” for my generation but it is also a well-disguised tool to learn balance and control before moving onto a real bicycle for my three year-old son. It may not be the preschool plastic low-riding bike that never tips over or doesn’t hurt as much when he takes a spill but it certainly reminds him that everything needs to be approached with a certain amount of knowledge, understanding and respect. Personally, I feel no toy should be played with without any parental supervision at first…it’s my job as a parent and a guide to show my child the “correct” way to tackle things and then to have him challenge that and then settle on his own way. I have shown him what to do and what not to do in order to manipulate the tricycle.
My 5 years old got on this and pedaled around right away. I’ve never seen her pedal any bike or tricycle before except the fancy. expensive therapeutic ones at her preschool. I read some bad reviews but decided to get this anyway. Our other options were much more money, so I figured I’d try this first. This has not toppled or tipped once in 4 months of having it. You cant compare the cheap plastic trikes on the market to this and Radio Flyers customer service is excellent. Our bike came with a dented fender they sent us a replacement. Oh, my daughter is about 39 inches tall. We have this set in the middle position so we still have growing room. If you have a smaller or younger kid go for the 10 inch one.
